UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEMS

Months of clogged phone & internet lines, unanswered emails & website crashes have caused intense distress for people filing unemployment claims in Maryland. Officials thought they had the unemployment bugs fixed when the Maryland Department of Labor’s Beacon online system was upgraded last month. But Delegate Pena Melnyk says lawmakers continue to get complaints from applicants on a regular basis. Patricia Villone reports.
